B. You!

I get caught in the trap of comparing my kids and their development just as much as the next mom. My son has barely rounded age 2, and I’m already scoping out pre-school curriculum. Last week, I actually pulled out the States and Capitals flash cards and he looked at me like, “Seriously? Keep this up and I’ll have plenty to tell the therapist one day.” Maybe your toddler can spell “Sacramento” and do long division, but I’ve come to realize that they are only this small for such a short time, so I better relax and enjoy it. Last night I sat on the play room rug with my son and we banged away on his new plastic B. Toy drum while singing a bunch of made up nonsense. At the bottom of the drum, there was a booklet with some of the most popular sayings from the B. quote gallery. Here are just a few that had us roaring!

“Did you know my Uncle Tony is driving around the country in a winning bagel?” — Sean, age 5. (Telling a relative his uncle was going cross-country in an RV).

Mom: “Look Chris, it’s the Capitol Building!”

Chris: “Oh, well where is the lowercase building?”– Chris, age 5

“Water is composed of two gins, Oxygin and Hydrogin. Oxygin is pure gin. Hydrogin is gin and water.”– Sam, age 11 (in response to question on 6th grade science quiz).

“Mommy, you’re the most beautiful woman in the whole world I ever saw before I left the house. “– Callie, age 2

“If the day I came out of your belly is called my birthday, what is the day I went in called?”– Rio, age 4

… and one of my personal favorites….

“Soda is not good for your body. You drink it and then you want more and more. Then next thing you know you are smoking.”

— Alyssa, age 5

Enjoy the ride!
