A Day in the Life

My son, Salem is our little drummer boy. He comes by it honestly having a couple of musicians for parents. Shortly after his first sippy of milk for the day (or as I like to call it, his “morning coffee”), he is asking for his drum sticks. We live in a duplex, so our version of drumsticks are less noisy alternatives like straws, chopsticks, or coffee stirrers. I found a giant bag of wooden grilling skewers at Target. They were only a buck, but I suddenly became Mommy of the Year bringing home all those sticks. Of course I don’t let my son run around the house banging on everything from my pots to his little sister with sharp objects. I clip the pointy end off of the skewers, and voila, happy son, happy neighbors, happy mommy. Not always a happy sister, but we’re working on it. The thing about snipping off the ends of the sticks is that sometimes the point goes flying across the room and we can’t find it. I know…. totally dangerous…. going to have to tighten up on my hunt for sharp wooden pieces when Mia starts crawling which is likely to be any day now. Today, I was having an episode with my printer. It kept jamming and eating the paper. Clark and I just finished playing an impromptu round of “how many musicians does it take to fix the HP” when he discovered this as the culprit.

Happy Monday everyone!

Oh, the mysterious printer “jams”…. Lightning McQueen finds his way into ours all the time. It’s amazing the way Eden can find room for toys in there! 🙂 This post made me smile this morning.
