April Giveaway

This is the way that I start most of my weeks… with a big, fat, blank menu that I scramble to fill before someone asks inevitable question, “What’s for dinner?” Then all of my anxieties start to spill over because A. I don’t have a plan. B. If I have a plan, it too closely resembles the last plan that I planned and C. Why can’t I have a planner do my planning for me?! The dinner hour looms, the kids grow hungry fangs, and next thing I know, I am pulling into the nearest drive-thru confession booth behind all of the other plan-less parents trading my procrastination for some sanity with a side of fries. Is it just me, or does the planning, coupon-matching, shopping, and cooking make you want to curl up in the fetal position under a booth at the nearest Wendy’s?

And then God said, “Let there be eMeals“!

The week of love commences today!

Every time we watch the movie Julie & Julia, Clark asks me if we can throw a Valentine’s Day dinner party like Paul and Julia Child. My dining creations are certainly no match for Julia’s. (I do make a mean marinara sauce, but what Italian woman doesn’t?) However, to honor my valentine’s request, I am hosting a Valentine’s Day dinner party for a few neighborhood friends Julie & Julia style.

And what would be a Julie & Julia themed dinner party without Julia Child’s Beef Bourguignon? I am going to need all the help in the kitchen that I can get attempting this masterpiece. Go big or go home, right?

In honor of my Valentine’s Day dinner party and this great culinary feat that will be attempted by yours truly, I am happy to announce this week’s giveaway sponsored by the television show, America’s Test Kitchen!

One lucky reader will receive a FREE ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION to Cook’s Illustrated Magazine!

This particular print matches perfectly with his nursery theme! Needless to say, I fell in love with their collection of customized prints. AND the best part is….

La Vie En Rosettes- part deux

I got a little carried away with making fabric rosettes this holiday season, but, overall, I’m pretty pleased with the outcome.

I had some fabric left over from Amelia’s bedding, and voila! I made this Black Satin Pin Dot Rosette Bib Necklace for my mother. Almost every piece of clothing she owns is black and white, so I added a little color to liven things up. Love you, Mom!

I went shopping in my jewelry box and pulled out any partner-less earrings, stray beads, outdated strands, and unwearable baubles and simply recycled them. I gave this necklace to my sister. I love the look of pearls and denim. So feminine. That’s why I call this piece the Fedenim Rosette Bib Necklace . Ha!

Fabric rosettes are all the rage right now. You can purchase either of these necklaces thru my Etsy shop…

You can enter to win the JANUARY GIVEAWAY!! One lucky reader will receive their choice of either of these fabric rosette bib necklaces.

To enter to win make sure you subscribe to my blog and leave a comment below.
